On September 6, 2025, The ALLICE Collective for Mental Health & Community Engagement is proudly collaborating with Black Mental Avenue and The TwenTea Company to bring Dear Mama: A Block Party for Black Maternal Mental Health back to the historic Third Ward neighborhood in Houston, TX, also known as a “maternal mortality hotspot.”

Join us from 10am - 3pm at THE BLUE TRIANGLE COMMUNITY CENTER located on 3005 McGowen Street as we center Black motherhood, nurture mental and emotional well-being for both mothers and fathers, and build a stronger, more connected community.

The Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) found mental health to be the leading cause of maternal death. Despite the availability of effective interventions, Black women continue to encounter significant barriers in accessing and engaging with maternal mental health services, further deepening disparities.

Dear Mama is committed to using community building and increasing positive social supports as key strategies to improve mental wellness outcomes for pregnant and postpartum Black women.

Please complete our request form if you offer health and wellness products or services and would like to donate raffle items, have an interest in becoming a partner, collaborator, sponsor, and/or vendor.
